The YMCA is a vital asset to the communities it serves. We work together with communities to provide programs like Before- and After-School Child Care, Preschool, Day Camps, Swimming and Swim Lessons, Family Activities, Sports for adults and children, Art programs, Health and Exercise, specialty programs for teens and older adults, and many more programs that help make that community an even nicer place to live and raise families. All YMCA programs are developed around the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Everyone Is Welcome
What sets the YMCA apart is that we make membership, programs, services, and facilities available regardless of a family or individual's ability to pay the standard membership and program fees. If you want to participate at the YMCA and feel you are not financially able to do so, please apply to our Guardian Program. We do not want you or your family to be excluded from the benefits that the Y has to offer.

A Message From Our President And CEO
Dear YMCA friends and supporters:
The Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA continues to find ways to serve more people during difficult times. In 2010, we worked more efficiently, reducing expenses without reducing services. We understand that Peninsula residents need the YMCA more than
ever, and our dedicated staff, volunteers, and donors are doing all they can to make each of our branches and camps a home
away from home.
The YMCA’s strength is in the people that we bring together to foster health in spirit, mind and body. We have strengthened our programs in a challenging economic environment offering more signature programs for teens, older adults, and families than in prior years.
We work hard to make sure our Y programs instill caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. We taught over 8,000 kids to swim, offered exercise classes for people with disabilities, and led over 200,000 participants in adult group exercise classes. We also offer other programs in response to community needs, including camping, child care, teen programs, youth sports, family nights, mentoring and the arts. In all, the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA had 738,416 service opportunities in 2010.
It is a tribute to the YMCA’s value that our donors supported our annual campaign with record contributions in 2010. This campaign raised $1,013,846, exceeding our goal and allowing us to offer more Peninsula area families financial assistance for YMCA memberships and programs.
While grounded in the present needs of our community, the Y has also looked ahead to the future, completing a strategic plan that gives us new goals and objectives through 2013. This exciting process involved the energetic input of more than two-hundred diverse community members. Our plan outlines a direction that targets our efforts around strengthening families and communities. Our focus will be supporting families and youth, improving health and well-being, serving others, and ensuring a legacy. Thank you for the part you play helping to build healthy, confident, connected and secure communities.
