Wiley Child Development Center
It is the philosophy of the YMCA Wiley Child Development Center that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploring and discovery. Planned within the framework of philosophy and purpose, our curriculum includes sharing and conversation, stories, songs and finger plays, creative art and crafts activities, large muscle activities, cooking projects and exposure to shapes, numbers, colors and letters. Teachers use learning centers in play-based curriculum to offer challenging activities in all developmental areas.
Licensed
The Center is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Social Services. We have met and must continue to meet all local and state laws pertaining to childcare. We strive to be above and beyond the minimal requirements of the state.
Staff
Several of the staff have degrees in early childhood or elementary education. Staff is continually being trained and furthering education in the area of early childhood. We have a caring, warm and friendly staff that is knowledgeable and well trained.
