What's Happening at the Y
School-Age Child Care 2014-2015
The YMCA School-Age program is available from the first day of school until the last day of school. Programs are provided on most school holidays, winter and spring break, and inclement weather days (check your school calender for school closings).
HOURS OF OPERATION
6 a.m. to school opening and school dismissal to 6 p.m.
Transportation is available for most traditional Newport News schools. Children are transported from the Y to school in the morning and from school to the Y after school for the following:
Booker T. Washington Middle School, *Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Achievable Dream, Hines Middle School, Carver Elementary, Newsome Park Elementary Crittenden Middle School, Riverside Elementary, Deer Park Elementary, Sedgefield Elementary, Hidenwood Elementary, Tucker Capps Elementary, Hilton Elementary, Trinity Lutheran School.

Additional children in the same program receive $5.00 off the weekly fee. Discount does not apply to before school care.
Monday – Friday at the Y, 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. or by appointment.
You must bring payment for the first week and $40 registration fee (per child) to registration as well as a copy of your child’s school physical, shot record, and original birth certificate. Due to licensing requirements, incomplete registrations cannot be processed.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is the Peninsula Metropolitan YMCA’s preferred method of payment for School-Age tuition. Fees are automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account weekly or monthly per your request. Financial Assistance is available for those not able to pay full amount, please ask about the Guardian program.

SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE
The YMCA School-Age program provides an environment where children can easily make friends, be part of a group, meet physical challenges, and know that they are liked, respected and appreciated. Our program offers youth the opportunity to have fun while learning healthy living through 5210 and science, technology, engineering and math through S.T.E.M. reading and arts activities.Learn More »
