Youth Sports

Sports can be a positive experience for your child’s mind as well as his or her body. Many positive aspects of psychological growth can result from sports participation including higher self-esteem, social skills, discipline, and respect for others. As with all YMCA programs the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are stressed through all our sports programs. Our philosophy is “Everybody Plays, Everybody Wins!”

YMCA sports programs are generally organized by age.

Preschool Sports may include:

  • Basketball
  • Dance
  • Gymnastics/Tumbling
  • Lacrosse
  • Multi-Sport
  • T-Ball
  • Soccer
  • Swim Lessons

Youth Sports are for children ages 4 – 18 (grouped appropriately for each sport):

  • Baseball
  • Basketball

  • Cheerleading
  • Fencing
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Gymnastics/Tumbling
  • Martial Arts
  • Scuba
  • Soccer
  • Tennis
  • Volleyball
  • Field Hockey

Adult Sports

There are more than just weights and treadmills at the Y; why not try one of our team sports programs to stay active and meet new friends? Sports are character-building for adults, too. The camaraderie of working as teams to achieve a win, the refreshed spirit at the end of game well-played — adult sports are a great way to de-stress and renew your spirit, mind, and body.

We offer both co-ed and gender-specific adult sports programs. Some of the adult sports offered are (not all offered at all locations):

  • Basketball – Pick-up and League
  • Football League
  • Pickleball – A fun racket-sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis and Ping-Pong for a fun workout. Round-robins and Tournaments also offered.
  • Racquetball
  • Soccer – Indoor and Outdoor Leagues
  • Training for 5K, 8K & 10K
  • Volleyball – Pick-up and League
