2B Fit program helps keep New Year’s resolutions
Many people make New Year’s resolutions. The most common intentions involve eating healthier, getting more exercise, and saving more money. To help people reach these goals, the Northern Neck YMCA is introducing the 2B Fit program. It helps participants eat healthier, get regular exercise, and, because the program is free to YMCA members, save money.
Those that take part in the 2B Fit program meet once a week, for one hour, for eight weeks. Each session contains a physical activity and a nutritional component. The 2B Fit program helps participants with goal setting, facing and overcoming challenges, healthy cooking, safe and effective workouts, staying motivated, and other topics to help keep them healthy, fit, and on track.
Brandon Dameron, YMCA fitness coordinator and 2B Fit leader, hopes the program will put people on track to a healthier lifestyle. He understands that starting a wellness program can be intimidating. Summoning the courage to begin is an accomplishment. Dameron believes 2B Fit offers a safe environment for participants to learn and set goals in a supportive atmosphere.
For convenience, the 2B Fit program offers morning or afternoon sessions. The meetings kick-off on Tuesday, January 8 at 10 am or Thursday, January 10 at 6 pm. The 2B Fit program will repeat beginning the week of March 4. Based on demand, more sessions may be added.
Dameron says, “We hope the community will take advantage of the 2B Fit program. The Y treats its members like family, and we want to help everyone meet their fitness goals.”
