Martha Elmore Hicks was born and raised in Edwardsville, VA to Brunice Elmore and the late Ellis Elmore. She is the middle child of nine siblings. Martha graduated from Northumberland High School in 1970. She furthered her education by graduating from St. Paul’s College receiving a B.S. in Education, Master’s Degree in Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Administrative Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University. Martha taught in Essex County for 13 years teaching 7th grade science. She was a Guidance Counselor in Westmoreland and Northumberland counties, Assistant Principal at Northumberland High School and was later assigned as a Truant Officer for the county. Martha retired from Northumberland School System June 2016 after 43 years in education. She is married to Roger Hicks, a retired firefighter, and has 2 sons, and 3 grandchildren. She is a faithful member of Galilee United Methodist Church, Edwardsville, VA. She lives as a child of God, helping everyone that gets in her path. “To know me is to love me!!!”

Brian Hettinger is a US Navy Submarine Veteran and currently works in the community as an Insurance Agent in Richmond County at VA Farm Bureau. Brian relocated from Mechanicsville to the NNK after getting married to his wife Tammy Jean Hettinger. They live on the outskirts of Warsaw and together they have four children: Austin (16) Abigail (14) Ava Jean (11) Ty (7). Brian enjoys golfing, hunting, and watching college and professional football. He is a member of Totuskey Baptist Church and the YMCA board.
