Dancing can help you lose weight, stay flexible, and reduce stress AND it is just plain FUN! But did you know that dancing can also make you smarter? A 2003 study made by the New England Journal of Medicine reported the “growing evidence that stimulating one’s mind by dancing can ward off Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia, much as physical exercise can keep the body fit. Dancing also increases cognitive acuity at all ages.”
Ballroom Dance I – ages 13+
Dance like the stars at the YMCA. Cha-Cha, Samba, Merengue, Tango! Traditional and Latin-style ballroom are taught by seasoned professionals.
This instructional class will introduce participants to a variety of Latin dance styles such as Salsa and Tango as well as Modern dance and more.
