Silver Sneakers Exercise
This may be just the workout you’ve been looking for! Get physically active and exercise regularly. SilverSneakers workouts vary and may include exercises to build endurance, strength, and balance. Regular exercise can lower the chances of developing arthritis and chronic illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes. Choose which one is right for you.
SilverSneakers Cardio Circuit:
Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers® ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. Intensity Level: Low/Medium
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support. Intensity Level: Low
YogaStretch moves your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Intensity Level: Low
Each YMCA location creates its own schedule of group exercise classes to offer and classes are rotated to keep workouts new and fresh so members stay engaged with their routines.
